  • Cat has a background in agriculture and sustainability, and is passionate about the positive impact local makers can have on their community. She enjoys supporting the robust food access programs available at the Market, and of course the phenomenal vendors.

  • Sherrell has supported the market as a staff member for over three years and loves building relationships with customers as the most vital asset to the Market. She thrives as part of the team that helps customers feel welcomed.

  • Dimaun began working with the Market over a decade ago with the Curry Shack. Now, he brings his deep Market expertise to the staff team as a Market Master.

  • George Slade, Jr.  was born in the year of the wood tiger. He was raised in the ways of the Waverly market by Vernon "Marc" Rey and Eula McDowell.

  • Former Baltimore City Police Officer with 20 years of service, Dante loves working with Market shoppers, vendors, and staff every Saturday.

  • “It’s the people!” Mike’s skillful management makes the parking lot a happy place on Saturday mornings.

Market Board

COMMUNITY MEMBERS

  • Susan is an avid weekly Market shopper and continues to be delighted with its locally-grown produce and ongoing support of entrepreneurial opportunities. A former museum publication designer, she enjoys promoting events at the Market, to encourage greater community participation with its vendors.

  • Miller is a long-time Baltimore resident and member of several community boards, including serving as Board President for the Charles Village Community Benefits District. He was instrumental in securing the Market's cardboard recycling program and is working to grow the Market's sponsorship base.

  • Chef, author, and chief operating force at Gertrude’s Chesapeake Kitchen at the Baltimore Museum of Art, John (a resident of Tuscany-Canterbury) has advocated for local farmers and artisan food makers from California to Baltimore for more than 25 years.

VENDOR MEMBERS

  • Joan grew up in Govans, and was a Market shopper before One Straw Farm became a vendor in 1989. Based in White Hall, the farm grows certified organic vegetables and hemp. Joan was instrumental in recent Market modernizations and strives for increased Market growth.

  • Vendor with 20+ years experience in the hospitality industry and chef-owner of Tom Cat’s Kitchen. Anna has honed expertise in small business finance management, culinary innovation, and exceptional guest relations. She plans to explore sustainable strategies for the market ecosystem’s growth and longevity.

  • Vendor with a nearly-two-decade career as a Certified Public Accountant has contributed to the success at Liberty Delight Farms in Reisterstown, created in 2009. Shane has been an active vendor since 2012, and has served as Treasurer since 2016.

  • Market vendor, manager, consultant, Board member, and developer of a local food distribution non-profit with 30+ years of operations experience. Bernard will continue to work closely with farmers and producers to ensure the Market’s sustainability. 

  • President and CEO of Greek Super Foods/Dimitri Olive Oil, Dimitri proudly notes that the Market was one of its first vending opportunities. The company imports cold pressed virgin olive oil from farms in southern Greece, and distributes it through the DMV.
